WIRELESS_ESSID='myssid'
in that file, the ssid is not set on ifup (or rcnetwork start/restart). I can check this by calling 'iwconfig wlan0' after ifup:
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
wpa_supplicant is started but does not connect and is endlessly scanning. Here's the output from 'wpa_cli status':
Selected interface 'wlan0' wpa_state=SCANNING
It will keep scanning, unless I set the essid manually by calling
# iwconfig wlan0 essid myssid
That's all, after about 30 seconds the wlan0 device has got it's IP address an is connected. I'm not sure, but I think, I already had that problem with openSUSE 10.2 and the old ipw3945 module. I couldn't connect to hidden access points unless I set the ssid manually with 'iwconfig'. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
