--- Comment #19 from Jiri Stavinoha 2007-06-20 07:14:29 MST ---
I just tested kernel-default-2.6.22_rc5-15.3.x86_64.rpm from kernel HEAD
repository and custom ACPI DSDT is still not working :(
It is compiled in kernel, but not working.
I also noticed, that the new major version of GCC (4.2) was used for building
this kernel package.
Fixing this issue will be more difficult than developers were expected, so I
have following hint to simplify testing:
Anyone (especially developers) can safely test whether is custom DSDT loaded by
using it on your own machine (so you will don't need to wait on testers).
Instructions:
run cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > DSDT.aml
place the path to this file in /etc/sysconfig/kernel in ACPI_DSDT variable.
run mkinitrd
reboot
run dmesg | grep ACPI
(there must be something like ACPI: successfully read 28094 bytes from file
/DSDT.aml)
Have a luck, I also attaching my dmesg output in next post.
