https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=264719 ------- Comment #12 from ingo.steiner@gmx.net 2007-05-03 05:11 MST ------- Good News! this morning I received the LG GSA-H30N, Firmware 1.0.1 and this one works out of the box! HAL immediately mounts DVD-RAM rw and I can write on it. The only thing at the moment is, that writing is extremely slow, because it does not use 'mount rainer'. I have installed both: 'udftools' and 'dvd+rw-tools' using Yast, but obviously that is not enough. Will have to fiddle out. So at least it is now confimed that the Samsung SH-S183A caused the trouble. It has latest firmware available 'SB02'. This is worth a posting to warn other users buying that drive (at least for Linux). Or do you thing that can be fixed in Linux? If you need any more info, please advise. Many thanks for your prompt support and best regards, Ingo -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
