After many installations, I have to boot with option acpi=off and maxcpus=0. If I suppress one of these options the sata disk is not mounted correctly. So I use only one CPU ! The driver of my nvidia video card doesn't accept the latest version of the kernel. With the openSuse 10.2 kernel (2.6.18.2-34), the nvidia driver is compatible, so I use compiz with success. Abstract of my hardware configuration : motherboard ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe (with nvidia nForce 570 chipset) + 1 sata disk. The CPU is AMD Athlon X2 4200+ so x86-64. With openSuse 10.0 32 bits, openSuse 10.1 32 bits, openSuse 10.2 32 bits and SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 I have exactly the problem. I don't try an install with boot options acpi=off maxcpus=0. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
