It doesnt matter if it is in AHCI or IDE or even compatible mode in BIOS. I get the same result. OpenSUSE 10.2 RC1 during the installation as well as later on doesnt find IDE devices. I got DVD-burner and Dvd-Reader on the same IDE channel. Harddrive is SATA and works ok so far. Please let me know what kinda of information do u need. I was able to install OpenSUSE 10.2 RC1 since I copied all 5 cds to the hd and continued installation from there in text mode by pointing to the folder with cds.
