True.. and it would be really cool to have almost an installation simulation. The next best thing I use anymore for image development to save needs for using a full machine to test imaging is kvm instances on my desktop. Adding in the usessh pieces allows one to get on with multiple shells and troubleshoot/watch the steps to make sure it's working ok too.. then just ^C the qemu/kvm process once you get past the initial steps (IME if partitioning starts, everything, save chroot/post scripts worked). These allow me to test our full pxe install bits too.
