Hi all.
To be honest with this many emails calling for meeting we could have discussion well under the way without IRC.
agree
What we have to discuss?
1) 12.2
12.2 needs planning now, and as with any other stuff that has to produce "ohhh" efect it can't be too public, while it has to be public :)
is that really a problem?
I do not completely agree with your classification.
* not any application need an openSUSE branding - environments needs it
* there are two kinds of branding: "static" branding, that is branding that have nothing to do with the distribution release sheme. This is wiki, but not only - we could lower our work making for example a definite branding for all the "12" serie (12.1, 12.2....) and distro branding: the part that need to change from one version to the next (splash screen, basic background).
We first should agree on a timeline. Besides that here are some open questions that needs to be clarified: - Do we want artwork to be based on some kind of concepts? - Are we open for any kind of submissions (e.g. photos, too)? - Can we provide gifts for winning concepts (e.g. a bamboo tablet), @jdd do we have budget for that? - Does it really need to be green? - How should we vote for a concept? (email / connect) - Who can vote? - Can we provide a core team that is responsible for the artwork integration? (building themes, uploading them to git, packaging, testing) - Does that list have to be reply to author, instead of reply to list ;?
