Hi all, please be kind with YANQ - yet nother newbe question .. I've installed several Suse Linux Versions form CD/DVD succesfully in the past, (6.x, 7.y, 8.1..) but now I'm puzzled with installation from ftp: I've downloaded the 9.2 boot.iso, burned it on a CD. - fine, The machine boots, - fine. I can configure my network card and so on, BUT ------> I don't enter the internet with the network card but with a modem (56k :-), makes fun in these days...) Normally, from a running system, I start up the thing with the usual scripts (/etc/sys...../../ifup-ppp ...and so on), then do ftp blablabla, but this is not possible during the installation, as no option for it is to be found in the installation dialogues. Additionally, I'm asked for an IP adress of the ftp server, but so far only now the name adresses (ftp.suse.com/pub/suse...). ... Any help form the experts to sort this out is greatly appreciated !! -Carsten
