As deadline for papers are really close I would like to present the final proposal for two talks. If you can please do proof read and ideally also some PR buzzwords enhancements as it is not my strong page.
## Presentation 1
I like the marketing-oriented tone and the content. I will just "rewrite" it to be a bit more English-compliant.
- Leap 15.1 and Hidden Gems in Installer
Do you ever heard about bcache or IRST? Do you want to play with it? Are you fighting with ssh keys for users? Are you start with salt and do not know how to do initial deployment? Are you fighting with tuning kernel cpu issues mitigations? Are you not sure which btrfs snapshot eats your space on btrfs? YaST can help with these and much more things in Leap 15.1 and in this talk I show how.
Hidden Gems from the Leap 15.1 Installer Have you ever heard about bcache or IRST but you don't how to start experimenting with them? Are you struggling to configure ssh keys for your users? Are you looking for an easy way to deploy your SaltStack configurations in your machine? Do you want to easily configure your system to balance performance with security against Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities? Do you want to know which of your Btrfs snapshots is consuming so much space? The latest versions of YaST can help you with that and with many other topics. ## Presentation 2 - Bright Future of YaST
YaST team does not slow down and also in Leap 15.2 will be many interesting new features which you can already see in Tumbleweed. Network module was simplified and its backend was more straighforward now. Encryption is always important, but nowadays even more and yast allows to use more advanced techniques now in the installation. Btrfs allows to be on multiple device and now it is also easy to setup in installer. Scripting with snapper will be easier than ever. Usability will be improved with new type of widget and many others improvements that will be demonstrated in this talk.
YaST's bright future Release after release, the YaST Team keeps on moving. Leap 15.2 will include many interesting new features which, in most cases, you have been already able to experience in openSUSE Tumbleweed. The overall usability has been improved, including the creation of a new widget for selecting the system role. The network module was simplified and its backend is more straightforward now. The installation process now allows to create and manage Btrfs file-system that expands over several devices and also allows to use more advanced encryption technologies. Scripting with snapper is now easier than ever... Join this talk to know more about what is coming and to provide your feedback to help us shaping the future of openSUSE.
TODO: Do you have some interesting feature that will be in Leap 15.1 or 15.2 that deserve mentioning in talk?
About stuff for 15.1, I'm sending you[1] the slideshows of my beer lightning talk on openSUSE Conference 2019. It lacks a slide about CPU mitigation (I realized too late to add it in time for the presentation), but I hope it will still be useful. Cheers. [1] I will do it in a separate mail, I have just realized it's 1.8MiB, clearly too much for a mailing list. -- Ancor González Sosa YaST Team at SUSE Linux GmbH -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: yast-devel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: yast-devel+owner@opensuse.org
