Additional Information: The same card is running on SUSE 9.3 with working fgl_glxgears and 8.10.19-1.1-driver.

In that case you should test the old driver. Unfortunately, you have to install them manually (the old ATI installer isn't capable of creating a SUSE compatible rpm), and uninstalling is a PITA. Acutally, it's quite possible that the old driver won't compile any more for a recent kernel. In that case you are lost. I wouldn't be surprised if the old drivers worked and the new won't. If you can confirm this, I can open a bug report in our tracking system, but that's won't help much either. yes i know.. but wat can i do ???? i received this warning only with the install DVD from SuSe 10.0

When you see the boot screen, look to the bottom, you'll have options to change the resolution for the install process.
