Does "nv" support dual heading?
Hi all, it seems my original question did not use the proper buzzwords, so let me put this question separate: Does the "nv" driver coming with XFree86 support dual heading, or do I need the "nVidia" driver for this? (I do _not_ need 3D, this is for software development + OpenOffice.) In case it matters: SuSE 8.2, XFree86-4.3.0-120, card with GeForce FX 5200. I fear you need the "nvidia" driver module - the nv(4) man page (also available online at http://www.xfree86.org/current/nv.4.html did not really give a hint about this - only that it attempts to detect which of the two possible video outputs it will use for displaying.

As I don't own an nVidia card, I can not tell 100% that these cards do
support dual-heading at all. I would assume so, but you may have to try
the "nvidia" driver for this. The XFree86 "nv" driver does not seem to
support it, at least from looking at the docs I found.
