For almost a week now, the updates in the Xorg repo [http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.1/] do not work for me. When applied, X will not start up - the screen flashes and the system is unresponsive.
In order to get X to work again, I need to downgrade to the following packages (from the openSUSE OSS repo I believe):
xorg-x11-driver-input-7.4-11.5@i586 xorg-x11-server-7.4-17.3@i586
How about xorg-x11-driver-video?
If you could post a logfile of the non-working X, we might be able to help you. However, X11:XOrg has the latest code, and it's just clear that this breaks from time to time.

Yes, I do need to downgrade the xorg-x11-driver-video and xorg-x11-driver- video-radeonhd packages on the MacbookPro[1]. As requested, I have attached the Xorg.0.log.old from the failed attempt. The only error I see relates to freetype. Perhaps, there is something else though that I am missing. [1] The radeonhd driver works beautifully on the MacbookPro using KDE 4.2 with Desktop Effects.
