[opensuse-xorg] wrong modelines for DELL2407WFPHC
hi list, i had the opportunity to test the new 11.0 on a system and found that xorg still gets wrong modelines for the DELL2407WFPHC TTF. please note the odd place for "1920x1200" only the last line seems to work properly. the problem is annoying because you are left with non working display after install. re wh Section "Modes" Identifier "Modes[0]" # Modeline "1920x1200" 151.63 1920 2032 2240 2560 1200 1201 1204 1234 # Modeline "1920x1200" 119.75 1920 1968 2000 2080 1200 1203 1209 1227 +HSync -Vsync Modeline "1600x1200" 152.67 1600 1704 1880 2160 1200 1201 1204 1240 Modeline "1600x1200" 121.25 1600 1648 1680 1760 1200 1203 1207 1232 +HSync -Vsync Modeline "1280x1024" 141.82 1280 1376 1512 1744 1024 1025 1028 1070 Modeline "1280x1024" 130.17 1280 1368 1504 1728 1024 1025 1028 1066 Modeline "1280x1024" 120.01 1280 1368 1504 1728 1024 1025 1028 1063 Modeline "1280x1024" 114.50 1280 1328 1360 1440 1024 1027 1034 1061 +HSync -Vsync Modeline "1280x1024" 108.88 1280 1360 1496 1712 1024 1025 1028 1060 Modeline "1152x864" 106.51 1152 1224 1352 1552 864 865 868 903 Modeline "1152x864" 97.69 1152 1224 1344 1536 864 865 868 900 Modeline "1152x864" 90.02 1152 1224 1344 1536 864 865 868 897 Modeline "1152x864" 88.00 1152 1200 1232 1312 864 867 871 895 +HSync -Vsync Modeline "1152x864" 81.62 1152 1216 1336 1520 864 865 868 895 Modeline "1024x768" 83.00 1024 1080 1192 1360 768 769 772 803 Modeline "1024x768" 76.89 1024 1080 1192 1360 768 769 772 800 Modeline "1024x768" 70.50 1024 1072 1104 1184 768 771 775 796 +HSync -Vsync Modeline "1024x768" 70.07 1024 1080 1184 1344 768 769 772 798 Modeline "1024x768" 64.11 1024 1080 1184 1344 768 769 772 795 Modeline "800x600" 50.32 800 840 928 1056 600 601 604 627 Modeline "800x600" 45.93 800 840 920 1040 600 601 604 625 Modeline "800x600" 44.75 800 848 880 960 600 603 607 622 +HSync -Vsync Modeline "800x600" 42.33 800 840 920 1040 600 601 604 623 Modeline "800x600" 38.22 800 832 912 1024 600 601 604 622 Modeline "1920x1200" 154 1920 1968 2000 2080 1200 1203 1209 1235 -hsync +vsync EndSection -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org

With what gfxcard and driver? I had a similar experience with a 24" 1920x1200 HP. http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2008-06/msg00643.html -- "Where were you when I laid the earth's foudation?" 07:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc ES1000 (rev 02) default driver that is used with 11.0 i had the same issue with 10.3. i guess it is a problem in the monitor. the last "1920x1200" line looks like a hot patch. OTOS using "hwinfo --monitor" shows that the monitors supports "Resolution: 1920x1200@60Hz" while X11 insists on 75Hz. re, wh -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org
