It worked fine for 1600x1200 but i could not get the 1920x1200 Resolution working because SAX2 offered 1920x1200@75 while the monitor supports 1920x1200@60.
before i start playing with modeline is there any help that sax2 can me offer ?
Start SaX2, select section "Monitor", klick to "Change ...", select "Sync Frequencies" and change "Vertical" to e.g. 56 - 60 Hz. You may also check, if the option "Monitor" --> "Options" --> "DDCMode" is selected. If it is, the DDC informations of the monitor are used instead of the sync freq. values. Maybe some drivers (I do not have a i945) do ignore this option or do not offer it. /var/log/Xorg.0.log should tell you more about what happens and even about valid modes and Modeline information. At least you may also try a xserver start without xorg.conf (don't remove it, just rename it!). In this case Xorg should probe for valid modes. If nothing helps, you may also select the resolution and used frequency using xrandr. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org
