I just upgraded this same box to 10 and I can not get my dual head configuration working now.
Worse, it appears that sax2 has removed much of the functionality of the previous versions. In previous versions, I could add/delete a particular video card. With 10, I have no such option. It identifies the proper card, ati 9200, but does not see the second output. The only way I can get sax2 to 'see' two video is to manually edit the xorg.conf file. I'm up to it, but can't get it to work.
You know that we changed from dual head setup to merged framebuffer setup, because it typically solves a number of problems? Maybe for your particular card dual head works better. With the next Alpha there will be special profiles for SaX with which you can explicitely specify whether to use MergedFB or Dualhead.

I assume the last one might have something to do with it, although when the box starts up, the console is displayed on the secondary (viewsonic) monitor. When X runs, it's on the primary (samsung).
Can you try the CVS based driver from http://www.opensuse.org/Laptops_and_external_VGA and test whether this one is working?
Wow, these servers are dogged. 10 must be pretty popular. :) -- Until later, Geoffrey
