Hmmm. What did you see in the log that tipped you off? I'm not seeing anything obvious in my log. I'm using a NEC LCD that complains if I use anything except 1280 x 1024 so that's the setting I use. It worked fine when I ran 9.1 and the default SuSE driver. But I just had to have hardware acceleration so...
