[opensuse-wiki] Wiki Status Update
I have managed to repair the wikis on stage. Here is the status for each wiki. No need for repair: en de Repaired without error: el fi is it ja languages nl pl sv tr vi zh-tw Repaired (pages lost due to duplication errors): es (9) fr (20) hu (12) pt (11) ru (30) zh (16) Aside from a lot of missing front pages, it looks pretty good to me. I would at least one admin/sysop from each wiki to test their wiki on stage and report back to me (either directly or through the mailing list). As I hear back from each admin, I will apply the changes to the production wiki and unlock it for editing. If you still find too many problems with the wiki, I can roll it back to last Saturday and we can work from there. You can test your wiki on stage by appending "stage" to the subdomain of the wiki (e.g. destage.opensuse.org). These wikis contain the current production snapshot, so this is how they will look in production. I apologize for all the issues that this upgrade has caused. I believe the worst of it is behind us. -Matt

I ran a few maintenance scripts, and those problems should now be fixed.
- All images in wiki do not display
I only copied the database and not the image files to stage, so that should be ok. Just to be double safe, I copied the ru image files down to stage. That seems to have fixed it up in stage. Thank you for checking this out. Have you noticed anything else? -Matt

Actually, there were much fewer errors (only 3) when I did it in production. When displaying the errors, it shows them in the garbage format, so I don't think it will help any to send them to you. Also, the front page is working there now! -Matt

Good morning everyone, Spanish wiki still has errors, as you can notice in http://esstage.opensuse.org/Especial:Categor%C3%ADasRequeridas, some "strange" symbols are being displayed where it should be showing accents. We find more important the CSS issue, where non-existing links have the same color as existing ones (this may lead to a confusing UX). We would like to have the same scheme as before, where "bad" links where displayed in red and "good" ones in blue (in fact when you follow a non-existing link, one variable shown in the URL bar is "redlink=1"). Thanks for the support, Matthew. Kind regards, David -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+owner@opensuse.org

I ran the maintenance scripts on that wiki. It looks like it's working now.

As soon as I get all the wikis back online in production, I'm going to take a look at the theming problems. I believe almost all of them have the same root cause.
Thanks for the support, Matthew. Of course, happy to help. -Matt

It seems that there are still problems, as you can see in: http://esstage.opensuse.org/Especial:Plantillas There are minor issues with portals (we consider them as minor because they can be easily modified): http://esstage.opensuse.org/Categor%C3%ADa:Portales http://es.opensuse.org/Categor%C3%ADa:Portales However, our team sees the red link issue as the most important problem (sorry for being so repetitive, but I just communicate their opinions). We will get to those. There are other wikis that are pretty much unusable because of this other issue, and we want to make sure they are all taken care of before we tackle the theming problems. -Matt

-Matt Hi, Matthew.
We found another problem after this update. We have on "Broken redirects" page many wrong broken redirects. see http://ru.opensuse.org/Служебная:BrokenRedirects <http://ru.opensuse.org/%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F:BrokenRedirects> This is correct redirects, but these redirects displayed like broken and like "??????????". -- Andrey Gankov openSUSE Member Email: gankov@opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+owner@opensuse.org

See my mail in opensuse-web[1] some minutes ago - the (not) red links are a CSS issue. I fixed this in en.opensuse.org/Mediawiki:Common.css for the english wiki. Basically we/you have the following options: a) copy the content of Mediawiki:Common.css to every wiki (that's a _very bad idea_ because it will cause a maintenance hell) b) @import the english Mediawiki:Common.php The following CSS code is untested, but should work: (add it to $lang.opensuse.org/Mediawiki:Common.css ) @import url("http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Common.css&action=raw") all; c) get the fix into the bento CSS files, and deploy them on all wikis Regards, Christian Boltz [1] which reminds me that Henne wanted to merge the opensuse-web and opensuse-wiki mailinglists ;-) --

In all the excitement, I forgot to set up the redirect for zh_tw to point to zh-tw. That should help things as well.

Good evening, I have tried to fix the red link issue by adding the import sentence (in http://es.opensuse.org/MediaWiki:Common.css) , but it did not work (as you can see by visiting http://es.opensuse.org/Especial:P%C3%A1ginasRequeridas). I don't know if it's necessary to modify other css or what to do, and checked if other wikis had still the same problem (fr,it,de, es...). I read you pushed some changes to GIT, is this solving the problem? Thanks for the support :) Regards, David -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+owner@opensuse.org
