Dear all,
I'm having a bit of a nightmare with one of my Xen virtual machines failing to boot.
It shuts down part way through the boot process after showing a few errors in lines relating to ATA1.00 , such as :
ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen
ata1.00: cmd c8/00:10:78:00:f6/00:00:00:00:00/e0 tag 0 dma 8192 in
res 40/00:00:00:00:00:/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout)
ata.00 status: { DRDY }
ata1: soft resetting link
ata1.00: revalidation failed (errno=-2)
(last 2 lines repeated a few times).
Other VMs boot OK (including the same guest OS).
I've tried copying the VM disk file over to another Xen host (newer OS and Xen version), and it doesn't boot there, either.
I've tried booting the VM with the flags noacpi , acpi=off and all_generic_ide but that doesn't seem to make any difference.
The guest OS is Opensuse 11.1 fully virtualised, and the host os is Suse Enterprise 10 (and I've tested it on SLES 11 too).
The SLES 10 box is running Xen 3.2.0 on kernel-xen-2.6.16
The SLES 11 box is running Xen 3.3.1 on kernel-xen-2.6.27
Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this?
All the best,
Andrew
