Error Setting Up Interprocess Communications
KDE 2.2.2 on SuSE 7.1. I reinstalled SuSE and upgraded KDE to 2.2.2. When I attempt to start Xwindows with KDE I get the message: Could not read network connection list /root/.DCOPserver_linux_:0 is not running. I've searched the KDE list achieves without finding a solution. Any help will be appreciated. Oh yes, the Gnome desktop works. Thanks in advance.

Hi Stephen, I ran into the same problem, but do not know the solution. I set up a machine for a friend, got everything working and realised netscape wasn't installed. I only had an elder distro of SuSE (7.1) handy, wereas 7.3 was installed. I could run X, but as soon as I started KDE/KDM/Kanything I got that error. In the end, I gave up and my newbe friend deinstalled netscape, as I told him in a pragmatic mood (the only thing that changed between running and not running) Oddly, KDE came up after deinstalling netscape and rebooting. Sounds odd, doesn't it?
