Hi All, I'm trying to get rid of all the boot-time graphics on a machine. I've got Grub showing in text mode, and the SuSE splash screen is disabled so I get the majority of the boot messages. BUT I still have the progress bar screen come up then disapear. Any ideas how I can get rid this last useless bit? OK, I mahe that change. Now I don't have the progress bar, but the graphical boot teminal comes up in its place for a second. So - still got the graphics, just different ones. Dylan -- Sweet moderation Heart of this nation Desert us not We are between the wars - Billy Bragg

You could rebuild the initrd to not contain a splash image /sbin/mk_initrd -s off That should definitely kill off the console graphics
