[opensuse] kde 44 Bonobo - Prevents Gnome Appearance from running in Gnome
Guys, I forgot the biggie for kde 4.4. For some reason there is this thing called bonobo that cause gnome appearance to crash in gnome. How do I tell bonobo not to keep running so I can run Gnome again? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Ummm... isn't bonobo a Gnome component? As far as I know, bonobo has nothing to do with KDE at all. And to top it off... it's a deprecated Gnome component. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You are correct, The gnome error said bonobo or kde component. I didn't draw the distinction. Additional testing shows it is some part of kde 4.4 that is crashing gnome-settings-daemon on gnome in 11.2. Any suggestions? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Are you still trying to run KDE3/QT3 and KDE4/QT4 side by side in the same install? Reading all your other posts on the problems you're having I'd venture to guess that your problems are rooted in the whole QT3 doesn't play nice with QT4 thing. I'm running a "pure" KDE4.4/QT4 setup with no QT4... works fine. I'm also running, on a second computer, a "pure" KDE4.4/QT4 + Gnome Factory install and haven't seen any of the errors, crashes etc you've been fighting with.
