[opensuse] Date program, looking for ??
Hi all, Back a few years ago I had a small program that I could input two dates and it would tell me the number of days between them. Does anyone know the name of this program? Thanks, JIM in Germany -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

"date" can do it. I think. The syntax is not obvious. date --date="Jan 9 2020 - 10 days" Mon Dec 30 00:00:00 CET 2019 I don't remember the syntax to substract two dates :-? Perhaps converting to seconds, substract those, and then convert to a date again. Kind of. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. The "date" program itself can do some calendric arithmetic. See [1], e.g. [1] http://www.walkernews.net/2007/06/03/date-arithmetic-in-linux-shell-scripts/ Randall Schulz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
