However, I was not able to find such using zypper or Discover. Is it meant to use the LibreOffice mechanism or am I just not clever enough to find the package? running the following from a command line will provide you with the names of the language packages available for libreoffice: zypper se -s libreoffice-l10n

Those packages just provide help files do they not? And they require the associated spelling package, but nothing about hyphenation that I can see.

install which ever you feel necessary to support you and/or your users and I would *definitely* install it/them as root.

I had no idea that the i10n files contained hyphenation data. I thought it would be related to the dictionaries or grammar files. Well, I'm not using Tumbleweed or the LO beta, so its issues are not familiar to me. If you fire YaST package manager and click search for "LibreOffice" you will find perhaps a hundred packages, most of which are language related. Yes, this is done as root. I have never used the LibreOffice mechanism, but I suppose that the results would only be available to the user doing it (even if it is root).
