[opensuse] LibreOffice: Silbentrennung installieren
Sorry, this is an English language mail list. You probably want to write instead to opensuse-de@opensuse.org instead. <https://www.deepl.com/translator#en/de/Or%20we%20can%20try%20to%20help%20you%20in%20English%20with%20the%20help%20of%20DeepL> -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. Hi all My apologies for posting to the English list in German. If you can help me in English, I appreciated just as much. Carlos, thanks for pointing at it. So my problem is, using LibreOffice 7.0.0 beta2 on Tumbleweed that it complains about missing hyphenation data for my language and I should install the respective package. However, I was not able to find such using zypper or Discover. Is it meant to use the LibreOffice mechanism or am I just not clever enough to find the package? If the former should I install it as root to make it available to all users? Kind regards Thiemo Quoting "Carlos E. R." <robin.listas@telefonica.net>:

I trimmed your full quote which I could not read anyway. running the following from a command line will provide you with the names of the language packages available for libreoffice: zypper se -s libreoffice-l10n install which ever you feel necessary to support you and/or your users and I would *definitely* install it/them as root. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Those packages just provide help files do they not? And they require the associated spelling package, but nothing about hyphenation that I can see.
install which ever you feel necessary to support you and/or your users and I would *definitely* install it/them as root.

Hi all Patrick is right. libreoffice-l10n* are the packages to install. I totally agree with Dave that the description is sort of vague: "libreoffice-l10n-de - German localization files for LibreOffice Provides German translations and additional resources (help files, etc.) for LibreOffice." Does someone happen to know how to improve the descriptions of the packages? Thanks to all for their help. Cheers Thiemo Quoting Patrick Shanahan <paka@opensuse.org>:

I had no idea that the i10n files contained hyphenation data. I thought it would be related to the dictionaries or grammar files. As to improve the descriptions, I do not know if they come from upstream or they are local. You could write a bugzilla. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Well, I'm not using Tumbleweed or the LO beta, so its issues are not familiar to me. If you fire YaST package manager and click search for "LibreOffice" you will find perhaps a hundred packages, most of which are language related. Yes, this is done as root. I have never used the LibreOffice mechanism, but I suppose that the results would only be available to the user doing it (even if it is root). When it says that the hyphenation data is missing, does it say the name of the thing? -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)
