First question I have is what repos do you have activated on this box and did you do any recent updates? I just have the defaults that were installed with the system. I did an update right after installing the system. The Repos are:

No I cannot login to a new user with a KDE session.

Part 2, can you log in to the original user account if you change the session type to icewm or twm?

Yes these both work. In fact I am using ICEWM right now and like it, it is very lean.

From those two errors about missing files I would say that you are missing the kdebase4-workspace rpm. What does rpm -q kdebase4-workspace say?

1) zypper in --force kdebase4-workspace This will force reinstallation. 2) The only repo listed in previous post that needs autorefresh is Updates.
