The issue is that I would need to use the build service to get 4.2.x, but I've recently seen that we are being told that the build service isn't supported, so if something breaks, I'm SOL. But, you're telling me that the current 4.2.x is fixed, so I guess I need the build service to get that. So, is the build service considered part of the system or not?
you are perfectly right, here. If *this part* of the OBS is "official", we need an "official" announce. Remastering the openSUSE DVD accordingly should be extremely nice.
I'm not trying to hurt this community. I would prefer to stick with openSUSE.
anyway, you have to, because most other wont have kde3. OpenSUSE is said to have kde3 available on all supported versions (that mean 11.1 for an other year or so) don't forget Debian is much faster than it was and don't maintain old distros after stable is released. openSUSE may be the last one with a workable kde3 (and thanks to us all, who asked for) and yes, we have to have a decent html editor (quanta or other) vi is nice for strict html, but when javascript or similar are involved... jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://news.opensuse.org/2009/04/13/people-of-opensuse-jean-daniel-dodin/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Errrrr where do we have a decent html editor Quanta WAS good very good but now it is fried if you keep KDE 3.5.9 it is ok go any further forget it and 4.x.x well thats just a joke it is completely brain dead . Straigh html editors joe does a nice job but it aint the tool just like vi is not it is too much like the old edlin 11.2 needs to have ALL these issues sorted B4 release or it's a no go zone !. and if the devs say they have not got time it just goes to prove beyond doubt that KDE4.x.x should not be out in the wild simple if they dont have time to work on it why are we being force fed it . I've been using Quanta in KDE4.2.2... seems to work with the exception of fish, but I can pop out to Konqueror and fish my files to the remote server. I don't use *everything* in Quanta, but.. .it seems to be working ok in 4.2.2. Have I missed something other than fish not working? well you have a lot of KDE 3.5.10 installed as well then most of the scripting side fails without the previous verson of KDE installed plus a few other functions .
