I wonder what happens if you run # /sbin/dump -f /tmp/hdd1.dump /dev/hdd1 I don't see dump mounts /dev/hdd1 so the response may be different. # rpm -qf /sbin/dump dump-0.4b31-12 -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
