source for simple progs. (cat, ls, etc.)

Hi: Programs like cat and ls are written in C, right?? So where can I get the sources of those programas and in your opinion would it be a good way of learning Unix Programming by looking in to their source?? Thanks!! Raul

I think that most of the ones you have in mind (not cat though) are in the gnu fileutils http://www.gnu.org/software/fileutils/fileutils.html Don't remove the existing versions you have though without taking a lot of care - you will make your system unusable.
