Canon A75 Installation Instructions?
Anyone know of a good location that describes getting the Canon A75 installed to work with SuSE? For what it's worth, I have 8.1 Pro, kernel 2.4.21, and USB hotplug works (usually). -- Cheers, wmeler

I know it doesn't help much, but my A75 is not recognized by 8.2 and is not on gtkam's menu of cameras, but it works fine with 9.2 beta. KDE has a digital camera app too in 9.2. Jeffrey -- Vote early and often. Apathy only encourages the bums.
Did you do anything to get it working with 9.2? Or it just *did*?

IIRC, one of the apps recognized the camera type by itself, the other
required that I tell it which camera it was. Beyond that, it was
the usual don't read the docs, just thrash about in the GUI. Didn't
take much thrashing, it mostly just did.

After a bit of frustration (including trying to install an updated
gtkam), I realized that I could find the Canon A75 digital camera with
gtkam as root, but not as a non-root user. Anybody have any
recommendations how to make it so my "wmeler" user can use gtkam just
as easily? I do not know the location of the file or files that need
permission changes.
Thanks,
wmeler
