fine. When I start X with the NVidia server configured to run, everything goes black and the machine is then locked for good until I reset it manually.
Most likely you have another device share the same IRQ that the Riva card is using. This causes the current driver to lock up. The reason is unknown at this point. Once you convince the BIOS of your system not to share the IRQ the server will work. Dirk -- :) At 09:16 PM 2/22/98 +0100, you wrote:
I'm running Linux Redhat 5.0 with 2.0.33 kernel. I'v installed the
XSuSE_NVidia and xf86config, configured it for the STB Velocity 128 card, but when startx is run, the machine hangs and the screen goes black. I'm not sure if the card is sharing IRQ with another card, since I'm not able to find what IRQ the AGP card is running on.
I'm able to use the XF86_VGA16 to run X on this card......but it would be great if I realy could use this cards resources under X...... :)
Anyone had the same experience with the XSuse_NVidia driver?
