SUSE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ANY USB DEVICES
My system does not recognize any USB devices that are connected to it. I have a USB mouse and an All-in-one printer, an HP PSC 2175 model. I have already performed many of the steps in Suse Support articles in an effort to solve this issue. So far, I have had no success. I receive the following messages in /var/log/messages: Apr 13 21:04:06 linux syslogd 1.4.1: restart. Which were? Remind us briefly, so that we don't repeat saying what you have already done. I would try enabling acpi, or if enabled, disabling it. Also playing with vpic could help - I hope I got the acronyms right... I'm folding up for the day. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

I think you can specify at their site that you run an 'other' operating system and then they will send you the fax in .tif format. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. This is new -- didn't know about it until this post sent me checking it out. Once you login, go to Preferences, Fax Options. You can select a file format of .efx, .tif, or .pdf. Cool! Ah, yes. My apologies. I also have a "free" number. No such thing as
"Preferences" for that one.
I poked around the help agent and saw something describing the above for
Free and Plus accounts, but then dug around more in the help agent and I
see that it's only available for Plus accounts.
Sorry I couldn't help more.

worst case we can with their help write something on the Programming list. I have only studied a little of the scripting languages likely we need a C program then someone else can write a front end and well be good to go. We need more of these free service people to stop treating Mosilla and OS in general as poor step children. CWSIV On Sun, 2004-05-09 at 10:27, James D. Ivey wrote:

Long ago... (maybe a year), they either a) allowed you to tell them what operating system you were using, or b) what format you wanted, and I told them a) linux or b) tif Since that time, I haven't changed a thing. They switched to their proprietary format for awhile and now, I guess they have switched back. I didn't change a thing.
