[SLE] User login - SuSe CD Mount problem
Hi friends, I am new to this mailing list. Subscribed yesterday. I have changed my linux distribution from Red Hat 6.1 to SuSe 6.3 1 month back. I am facing a strange problem in SuSe 6.3 which was not there in Red Hat 6.1. When I try to mount a CD from my user login it gives me error saying that *only superuser can mount* My /etc/fstab has got the following : /dev/hdd /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro,users 0 0 This is the same as what I had in Red Hat fstab. Can anybody help me out on this. I even tried changing users to user without success. I even tried putting owner in /etc/fstab. No success. My user login (rajesh) is a member of users group. Thanks in advance. -- Rajesh(ALIAS Shriram) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How I Configured my SiS6215 Card ?Visit:http://rajesh.computers.webjump.com/linux.html Web Site : http://rajesh.computers.webjump.com/ Email : rfowkar@goa1.dot.net.in Every person you meet knows something you don't, Learn from them. You need to change the permissions on mount. They probably read something like /bin/mount 755. They should be 4755. You can change this in the permissions file that is in use at the time. Just make sure to run SuSEconfig afterwards. Victor On Wed, 22 Mar 2000, Rajesh Fowkar wrote:

That "users" parameter should be "user", singular. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
