[opensuse] Problem installing 11.0. Blocked at "Activating USB devices..."
Hi all. I can't install openSuse 11.0. When installing it stops doing anything. Changing to console the last text line says: "Activating USB device..." Computer: AMD 64 X2 3800+ Motherboard, Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G ATI HD3870 2GB RAM openSuse 10.3 installed and working (I don't want to update, I want a clean installation) W-XP works ok ... well, ok for MS ;-) I've already search for any solution and I've not found it. Can you help me? Thank you very much!! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Remove all USB devices that are not essential. Keyboard is essential, mouse somewhat. After you select Installation and press Enter, press ESC key to get verbose boot. Look for last messages before it stops and post them here. It is not sure that the logged message "Activating USB device..." is last performed action. Some driver that crash system may not leave any message in the log, but it can be visible on boot screen. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
