Talent and no brains, apparently. I don't know why this pissed me off, but it did. Linux advocacy gone astray. Sorry, but this is not the way to win the war, or even the battle.
I cannot agree with you more. I have to support both sets of software. After have W2k up for 85 days with no reboot, and Linux up, both running web server software, They seem to respond and handle loads about the same. (No real performance testing done). Since I USE IE most of the time, a site like that just turns me off.
Win2k seems to be ok for file/web serving but I tried Professional as my work workstation for a few days and it was so freakin' slow that I gave up and went back to NT 4.0 SP5 (on the same PIII/128MB machine, does Win2k need 256MB? If so my home linux box is doing great with 64MB for similar apps).
Linux will not win pissing in the wind like this, they are going to win buy turning out a superior product that can be installed by the even the most brain dead, living on 2 brain cells person. Showing that no matter what, you get a clean install every time.
Give the guy a break. It's just a personal website to showoff with. Maybe much of his work isn't useful for productivity but in the long run we're going to see some major display improvements as a result of his work.
