[opensuse] OpenOffice/LibreOffice won't launch - Suse 11.2
Hello, Inexplicably, OpenOffice/LibreOffice won't launch anymore. For example, if I type 'oocalc' at a prompt nothing happens. The same is true if I type 'libreoffice --write'. Using 'ps aux|grep oocalc' or 'ps aux|grep libreoffice' shows no processes either. This is true for any user on the machine, including root. No errors are logged to /var/log/messages. Any suggestions to discover and correct the problem are welcome. I'd rather not resort to just rebooting the machine as I would prefer to find where the problem is. Many thanks, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You might also want to consider running "strace command" to diagnose any problem during start up. -- Best Regards, The Admin Team Intended for the recipent eyes only -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Have you changed to the Plastik style recently. My openoffice and libre office installations broke recently and it was to do with the plastik style. If your style isnt oxygen then try changing to it and see what happens. When you run it from the command line may not see any errors (I didnt) and I had to start it with strace (mine was due to a missing widget with plastik) also look for an hs error file that may appear (mine was in my home folder). Hope it helps Andrew -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
