[New laptop] Recommendations for new (ultrabook) laptop
Hi, I am seeking a new laptop which I would like to have the best possible experience with openSUSE, from hardware perspective I have the follwing requirements: - Screen: 13 - 14 inch - RAM: 32 or more memory - 500 GB to 1 TB - quality build (no bending plastic) - ideally WiFi 6 suport, or at least hardware with said ability so that the drivers can support it later - 8 hours batter lifetime during modersate load (YouTube,... no code compiling that I can do remotely or when plugged-in) - Bluetooth - USB-C - powerfull in-build GPU is nice to have but I am ok with powerfull embedded one, as I have eGPU over Thunderbold via USB-C - built in RJ54 1GbE would be nice, but I have a USB-C dongle that can take care of that Please let me know if I missed something I should add to my requirements list. Any recommendations what to look for? Minor bugs don't matter, I can either fix them myself, or pay someone to do it for me. -- Best regards / S pozdravem, BSc. Hi, I would recommend DELL XPS 13 9370 (or older and cheaper versions). https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-laptops-and-notebooks/xps-13-devel... At the moment I have two of them: 9310 and 9370 2-in-1. Bye. Michael. On Sonntag, 23. Januar 2022 23:49:41 CET Mark Stopka wrote:

My current preference would likely be the Tuxedo InfinityBook Pro 14 https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/en/Linux-Hardware/Linux-Notebooks/10-14-inch... I think you can get a similar model from others, too (System76?). Only thing it's missing is Ethernet, but for a 1kg unit I'd be willing to accept that. One major point for me is the 3k 16:10 display. They ship it with Linux, so drivers should not be an issue.

I would check out both Tuxedo and Slimbook - both ship laptops with Linux pre- installed. I've seen good reviews of both Tuxedo and Slimbook ultrabooks online (check out "The Linux Experiment" channel on YouTube).
