Leap 15.3 kernel 5.3.18-150300.59.43-default boot hang on Dell 2950
Hi all. Since updating to Kernel 5.3.18-150300.59.43-default, my Dell 2950 server refuses to boot. It starts to boot, and then just freezes after a slight flicker of the screen (the freeze occurs with ACPI related messages on the screen, but those messages get displayed with previous kernel versions as well and those boot fine). There is nothing that is recorded in the boot logs etc. Reverting back to the previous kernel (5.3.18-59.40-default) resolves the problem. Is anyone else seeing similar issues? Regards, --Moby

Lots of people with old AMD/ATI GPUs: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1195142 Comment 5 there has a workaround, or just keep using the .40 kernel until another is released. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. as you post to the list you probably read the list as well? <https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/users@lists.opensuse.org/> just a little while ago there has been a thread about that latest kernel update giving bootup lockups and disabling graphics on especially amd-gpu based systems. nomodeset kernel parameter is your friend compare your thread: <https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/users@lists.opensuse.org/thread/ZKJAZ4DOYBX7OBJNN4VIUBNP5BTIKZUK/> to other thread: <https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/users@lists.opensuse.org/thread/D7IIBMIG6MSRTAQHOXX35EDDEAIQOXUY/>
