[opensuse] Goodbye to opensuse 10.1
I am back on my opensuse 10.0 I have tried to install 10.1 at least 5 times, and I have problem with ZMD, YOU and sound. Hope that when 10.2 is out, these problem are gone. I have been with SuSE since 5.2, but 10.1 have been a he.. I have only a problem with ZMB, it keeps saying there is a missing package, but when I try install that package, it says it's there. I like the old software(for updates) manager better. And it will not install from the cd anymore because of this broken package. Oh well. It's free software. -- Command, n.: Statement presented by a human and accepted by a computer in such a manner as to make the human feel as if he is in control. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

The problem is that Yast do not like me. If I tries to install new programs it Just quits, and ZEN wont give me access to used as a user. Use KPackage manager for any apps. not supplied in the distro. Get rid of the zen files in Yast AND rug, then install the modified smart files in an archive I'll attach under private cover.....install with KPackage. If you don't have that installed, use Yast to install it from the distro.....use Yast search to find it. Could I get your modified smart files? I would like to compare them to
what I currently have and maybe make a wiki page if possible.
Thanks,

Truly to say Yast package manager never was my favorite peace of software and never really worked fine for me either. That's why I simply replace it with some other package manager. "Smart" is one of these. -- Best regards, Alexander. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

Let's not get too exited. It's not SUSE-provided solution and documention & error handling could be in a better shape (looks that it's rather rare to get a human readable error out of it if something went wrong). -- // Janne --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

How about trying to be a bit more constructive? Regards Christoph --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org
Hello, all Hoping you are doing fine... I like suse very very much ... but I was abit disappointed about 10.1release .. I've faced many problems .. one of them is a very annoying problem.. If I wouldn't let YOU configure itself during installation ... It never works again ... If I let it finish during installation, it works fine later... but very annoying..

OK, that's your option. But you should remember to send any feedback for future improvements. -- Jordi Espasa Clofent Linux user id 332494 #http://counter.li.org/ PGP id 0xC5ABA76A #http://pgp.mit.edu/ FSF Associate Member id 4281 #http://www.fsf.org/
