Opera 7.1 static on 8.2 pro???
Has anyone managed to install the Static version of the latest Opera 7.10 beta??? It's got me puzzled as by my definition, a "Static" version should have ALL dependencies included... I get the following message from YaST when I try to install it: libXm.so.2 not available opera 7.1.0-20030410.1 conflict opera requires libXm.so.2 meanwhile I'm putting on the Opera that comes on the 8.2 disks instead...
Hi paul! ok, here's what i did. i just ran rpm with nodeps. my understanding is that opera needs libXm for NS plugin support, 8.2 openmotif installs libXm.so.3, so i can live with opera either not using NS plugin support or working with libXm.so.3 if it likes. so: michael:/usr/local/src # rpm -Uvh opera-7.1.0-20030410.4-shared-qt.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: libXm.so.2 is needed by opera-7.1.0-20030410.4 michael:/usr/local/src # rpm -Uvh opera-7.1.0-20030410.4-shared-qt.i386.rpm --nodeps opera ################################################## michael:/usr/local/src # michael:/usr/local/src # ldconfig -p | grep libXm libXm.so.3 (libc6) => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXm.so.3 libXm.so (libc6) => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXm.so hth's some. -- michael On Tue, 22 Apr 2003, paul cooke wrote:

can you have Openmotif and lesstif simultaneously installed??? By my reckoning then there would be libXm.so.2 (from lesstif) and libXm.so.3 (from Openmotif)
