Does anyone have the "rc.sshd" file referred to in the OpenSSH articles in Linux Journal? This is a SuSE-specific file, not in the RedHat rpms on the OpenSSH site. The article refers (Jan 2001, p58--60) to this file as being in the "contrib" directory, but I can't seem to find any ssh stuff in any /pub/suse/contrib mirrors (or any suse stuff in the OpenSSH site). There's no contrib directory in the source tgz distribution on the openssh.com site. I suppose one could figure out what might want to be in that file (it goes in /sbin/init.d) or just put something in an rc.local file somewhere, but since it was referenced in such a public place, I thought I'd ask the SuSE community. TIA, Jim
Try ftp.suse.com If you would like to grab the SuSE RPM..try looking here if you are running 7.1..if not look in the same directory but for the version you have. /pub/suse/i386/update/7.1/sec1 Regards, -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

I have an sshd file in /sbin/init.d. It was supplied in the rpm from whatever mirror I got the ssh rpm from. See attached. Greg
I grabbed the OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 tarball recently from the OpenSSH site
and it does have the file:
elendil:~/openssh-2.5.1p1/contrib/suse$ ls
openssh.spec rc.config.sshd rc.sshd
You may have an older version.
