No...not really. The professional version of SuSE 7.3 was released at £50.....by the time that goes down to a reasonable price to buy...the next version is more or less ready to be released.
And as SuSE/Linux is GNU/GPL anyway...I say COPY COPY COPY away...

And when SuSE goes out of business? You'll just move on to the next distro I assume.
No...Not at all. My point was, is it SuSE that decides how
much they are going to sell both their products
(personal/professional), or is it the retailers???
I don't mind paying £50 for the professional edition, but I
certainly won't be upgrading each time SuSE releases their
next version.
Traditionally, I upgrade every 12/18 months......

SuSE also won't sell directly from Germany in spite of that I have been a customer for several years. They have handeld me ower to a Danish representative. What can happen ??. They can loose a customer, but do not think they will care about it, as they are more busy with industrial work now. On Friday 12 October 2001 18:08, THOMAS ADAM wrote:

They set a recommended retail price for each box. Some retailers and eVendors purchase in so much bulk that they can pass the savings on to you. For instance, CompUSA here in the States often sells SuSE box products for $10 per box less than the "MSRP". ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
