Recommended 802.11b adapters PCI/USB that work out of box w/ 9.2?
Hi, Does anyone have any recommendations on 802.11b PCI/USB adapters that work well out of the box on SuSE Linux Professional 9.2? I don't want to bother with updating linux-wlan or anything like that. Looking for plug-and-play. Thanks, Scott

It's more a question of the chipset used on the board. At least Prism seems to be well supported. My (don't remember the code, but it uses Prism and supports up to 54 Mbps, so it's rather new) worked right out of the box with SuSE 9.2. rgds, /Marty On Wednesday 06 April 2005 21:49, Scott Stickeler wrote:

Thanks. I realize the chipset is what is important but it seems like
every manufacturer switches chipsets with each rev of the device and
it is difficult to tell when buying something what revision it is.
Maybe I'll just try my luck and see what happens.
