a-Bit motherboards -- any opinions?
Has anyone had any experience with a-Bit motherboards and SuSE 9.3? Considering the model AN8 Ultra nF4 (with Athlon 64 3200+) If anyone has any thoughts please let reply a.s.a.p. Many thanks. ;o) Gil

I bought an AI7 18 months ago. The BIOS is and remains defective, with upgrades providing no fix. The problem is that with a PCI SCSI HBA installed, the system will not boot except from a floppy unless the HBA has a HD attached. Never been a fan of Abit personally. Thought they were always a bit unreliable. I've been on board with abit since the first amd t-bird came out.......I've never had one that was unreliable, nor have i ever considered abit to be a cheap board. they've always been more of an overclockers board imho. When it comes down to changing you processing speeds, they even allow you to change your multipliers by intervals of .5, which is rare with other manufacturers. One thing that abit had some compatibility issue's with in the past are creative soundblaster cards, but that was also wayz back.
