Registering software - Any benefits?
I am not sure if there is any benefit for registering the software. I visited the site and find out that I could unlocke my support key, which I think that is the support I get for a limited time after buying my software, right? What if I register it and my support expire? In that case it will be better not to registere it until support is needed, right? Do I get any other benefit than the limited time support for registering my product? Thnx. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. You get a cool registration number that you can put in your sig to impress people. Your best support is from this list. -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation

----------------------------- Zentra & Kevin, I can't really agree with you both on not registering your product, as I do believe it has several benefits, some of which I have experienced. I do agree that the list here is your best source or information though, as Zentra mentions. The registration number serves more purposes than just getting the buyer support from SuSE, so by all means, register it after you get up and running with your new SuSE setup! Such as? :-? I did register at least once, and used the installation support once or twice. I got some nice letters announcing new versions, but they stopped a year or two ago. But my "real" problems with suse-linux they did not solve, the support is far too limited. They do not even answer a request for missing things, that were documented to be there... -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
