Maybe I am missing something super simple here... Trying to install the newest version of opera, I get failed dependencies libXm.so.2 is needed. I downloaded both the qt shared and qt static both give the same result. I tried add/remove software in yast2 and searching by provides/requires and nothing, I found through rpmfind.net that libXm.so.2 is part of open motif, which I have installed, but the version on 8.2 doesn't provide libXm.so.2 So then I tried to install opera 6.03 from the cd's thinking that might install the file in question. Nope. Is there any package on the cd's I can get libXm.so.2 from? Or what else should I try? ROb

On older SuSE, this is provided by openmotif. But starting from 8.1, openmotif provided libXm.so.3. So, libXm.so.2 is provided by lesstif. However, lesstif is not included in 8.2, so you can manually download it from ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/8.1/suse/i586/. -- -- Verdi March --

Rob - In my efforts to get the Opera that comes with 8.2 to use plugins, I went through some hoops to get libXm.so.2. Even so, I never could get Opera to work properly and so gave up to wait for Opera 7. If you'd like me to send you libXm.so.2, email me off-list. (Insert rant about Opera and its fscking dependencies here). Cheers, Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com Don't Panic!
I took verdi's advice and downloaded lesstif from v8.1 installed it and then opera qt-shared. Everything is working good so far, haven't tried any plugins yet tho. Thanks to this I've finally got Java going on Opera 7.1p1 !! Thing is, the java apps which work perfectly (well, as perfectly as Java ever does) in Konqueror throw pages of errors in the console in Opera. Is this something wrong at my end? Or is it Opera? btw, they're both using Blackdown 1.4.1. Cheers Dylan -- Sweet moderation Heart of this nation Desert us not We are between the wars - Billy Bragg
