[opensuse] kAudio Creator and Lame

I'm trying to rip a CD in KAudio Creator, into mp3. I get an error stating that the file was not created, and the wav file was deleted. Looking at the output, it apparently does not like the specific "genre" I typed in, it asks me to specify a name or a number. I simply typed in "Christmas". This works fine encoding to flac or ogg, but lame seems to rebel here. Any pointers? Just to verify - you have the lame mp3 codec? Have you tried this with other CDs? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Well, I guess I don't have the lame encoder. I have the one that gets installed with the normal 10.3 codecs. In any case, when trying to rip into mp3, when I type in a genre it won't encode. If I select a genre from the list it will encode. Same on 3 different CDs. This does not happen if I encode with flac or ogg. In both case I type in "Christmas" and both encode with no problems or errors. How can I do the same thing but directly encode into mp3? I guess I could re-tag the stuff, but with many CDs that seem a pain. It happened to me too. It seems to accept only a defined set of genres and not every kind of genre you can type. Change in a 'standard' genre and you solve the problem p.s.: sorry per the direct reply :-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
