Hello, I'm trying to set up automounter on OpenSuse 10.3 to use ldap name service. I'm using Sun directory server 5.2. and connect to it via a proxy user. Ldap queries f. e. host ip resolution, or netgroups are working fine, so ldap configuration should be ok. When I start automounter with 'rcautofs start' I get the following error message: Starting automount startproc: exit status of parent of /usr/sbin/automount: 3 failed And this entry into the /var/log/messages: Dec 18 15:36:20 prinz automount[5357]: bind_ldap_anonymous: lookup(ldap): Unable to bind to the LDAP server: (default), error Can't contact LDAP server Dec 18 15:36:20 prinz automount[5357]: lookup_init: lookup(ldap): cannot connect to server Dec 18 15:36:20 prinz automount[5357]: master_read_master: can't read master map auto.master Obviously the system tries to connect to the ldap server anonymously and this is denied by the ldap server. But since all other ldap queries are working fine, it seems that only the automounter tries to do it as anonymous. Is there a special setting for the automounter to enable the proxy for ldap? I've also set the 'rootbinddn' in the /etc/ldap.conf to the proxy user, in the hope that the automounter will pick this up, but still no luck.
