Here in Croatia I paid for the 8.0 update around $100 and it's TOO much. The distribution goes over Greece, and then it returns to local reseller(s). (Although many are listed, only one exists.)
It's a shame that it's not possibly to order directly from SuSE. I'm with SuSE from 6.0 and was buying every release, then I bought 7.1, skip skip 8.0 .. since I, as a home user, cannot afford more. 8.2 could be interesting because of gcc 3.x and GNOME2 development, but if I cannot get some cheap updates (only CDs & DVDs), I'll probably wait for another one (I already have KDE 3.1).
Probably I'm not alone on a boat :-) SuSE do you hear me?
Sincerely, Gour
Gour, some "home users" in the USA w/ limited funds buy the personal version and then downloaded the "other stuff" In the USA the personal is half the cost of the pro, partially because it comes w/ less Cd's,less manuals, less support, etc. I don't know if that is an option in Croatia, or where airfare is a big issue. HTH ((OT) I got my gnome2 working in a fashion, but because of lack of gcc 3.2 ,it is not 100% so I an excited about 8.2) ~Gar

Dear Friends, If SuSE could reproduce the same stuff in all countries I believe as Microsoft does the prices could drop drastically. The main reason for them to do that would be that UNIX and LINUX are suppose to do so and that is reduce the price of the OS so that it can reach every user that inspires its creation as well as everyone who needs to know more of the IT developments and creations that are affecting the world around us. God Bless SuSE. Regards, ABHIJIT NAIK On Sat, 15 Mar 2003 GarUlbricht7@netscape.net wrote:
