[opensuse] Plasma - how to set digital clock plasmoid font size?
All, How can I change the font size of the digital clock plasmoid in the taskbar? Apparently, in the past there was a pointSize parameter in the file: /usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock/contents/ui/DigitalClock.qml I have tried changing: font.pixelSize: 1024 to font.pixelSize: 512 hoping to 1/2 the font size, but no joy. Is there any way to do this? The font is huge (and this is with a small narrow font), e.g. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

I see three instances of that line in the file; did you try changing all three? This is just a wild guess in the dark, but I see in that file a lot of lines reading: font.pixelSize: 3 * theme.defaultFont.pixelSize and I'm guessing that this might have something to do with the default fontsize(s) you have set for the desktop. Perhaps you might try setting a smaller fontsize (ie. point size) for the general font selection in System Settings/Fonts. I am using a 10-point font, and my digital clock display is nowhere near as large as yours is. If that doesn't work, try some of the other font sizes you've selected. Just a guess, but it might be worth checking. Also, did you remember to restart the digital clock after changing the file? I think you'd have to delete it from the taskbar, and then add it back. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Saw that bug and commit, but that would already be included (that was pre-FW5 5.11), I'm running the FW5 5.13 and Plasma ver. 18.04.2 (all builds newer than 6/7/18) Bewildering that something as simple as setting the desired font-size for the taskbar time and date be so difficult, or the capability non-existent? I'll keep messing with it, but the plasmoid set the font size without providing any interface to correct the setting in case the "plasmoid" gets it wrong seems a bit optimistic...
