Hi I'm trying to install Mplayer using apt and the ftp://ftp.gwdg.de repository. I checked the necessary components in my source.list but apt still complains about a "Lzo" package. Has anyone installed Mplayer successfully? I'm using suse 9.0 Thanks Gustavo

NO, it's NOT: RELEASE-NOTES.en.html kaffeine - The New Standard Video Player kaffeine is a very efficient application for playing video files. It is based on the xine engine. For legal reasons, we are not allowed to distribute support for some video formats. More information is available online at http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2003/09/xine_dvd.html And there's NOT on the CD/DVD's... trust me :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Bos" <radoeka@xs4all.nl> To: <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Sent: Friday, October 31, 2003 12:19 AM Subject: Re: [SLE] How to install Mplayer using apt Op donderdag 30 oktober 2003 23:09, schreef Gustavo Rahal:

And there's NOT on the CD/DVD's... trust me :) <snip> I'm not sure of the relevance of your link as it makes no mention of "Lzo". Is it possible that there are two "Lzo's"? On SuSE 9.0 here *pin lzo* produces ---> ./CD1/suse/i586/lzo-1.08-21.i586.rpm ---> ./CD1/suse/i586/lzo-devel-1.08-21.i586.rpm ---> ./CD2/suse/src/lzo-1.08-21.src.rpm (Plus several screens of info.)
So, on the info so far provided, package lzo is indeed on the CD's. -- Vic Ayres

It's on the cd/dvd. <snip> It would appear the the mplayer supplied on the disks is broken. The SuSE RPMs from Packman's site have been upgraded to SuSE99. Download and install the Mplayer and related packages mentioned a the site. LW999
